Robert and Carole Machiz flipping the switch at the Inaugural Lighting Ceremony in 2007.
Executive Director, Christine Lessard, is very excited to announce, "This is the first year that a special person who has made a difference in the fight against breast cancer...
has supported someone through a cancer diagnosis... or has made an exceptional contribution to the cause will be nominated to have the prestigious honor of flipping the switch
on October 1st at
The Pink Light District Lighting Ceremony." The Canal Bridge, which links the Scottsdale Waterfront to the SouthBridge District, will be decorated with
pink light bulbs that are now being sponsored by breast cancer supporters nationwide in honor or memory of loved ones who have been touched by breast cancer.
The lights will stay illuminated throughout October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
"It is very easy to submit a nomination for
The Pink Light Award through our website at
www.AIBH.org. All nominees will receive an email notification
that they have been nominated for this special award and who submitted the nomination," says Lessard.
The Institute is also still accepting sponsorships for Pink Honor Lights at

People nationwide are recognizing individuals who have gone through breast cancer and others who have made a difference in the life of someone touched by breast cancer. Others
are simply showing their support in the fight against this horrible disease by sponsoring a Pink Honor Light. A special Tribute Card is immediately emailed to each Honoree
and every Pink Light Sponsorship is 100% tax deductible. All honorees will also be
recognized on the AIBH website in the Pink Light District Honor Album. This is a simple and powerful way to raise awareness of
breast cancer and to show your support of the cause.
