September 7, 2006 - Think you're tough? This year more than 3900
women in Arizona will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
Which of these women will you know? The Women on Wheels
local chapter, the Gypsy Riders, will host the Inaugural
Bikers Ball, Friday, Nov. 18, starting at 6 p.m., as a
fundraising event to support the Arizona Institute for
Breast Health (AIBH).
The ball will feature cocktails, dinner, casino
tables and dancing to The HEAT. At this inaugural
'pink and black' motorcycle
themed ball, the highlights of the evening will be a
live auction and the display of the Survivor Bike
created by local motorcycle builder Ed Whittley, owner of
Firebird Custom Choppers. The Survivor Bike will be
raffled off during Arizona Bike Week 2006.
Proceeds will benefit the Arizona Institute for Breast Health.
The Arizona Institute for Breast Health was created to give
women the opportunity to receive the best possible treatment
for breast cancer.
Formed by a consortium of medical professionals who
have a deep and abiding commitment to raise the level
of compassion and improve treatment outcomes, the
Institute offers programs that address all of the
issues involved with the disease - from prevention
and education to specific treatment options.
